1. Agreement to these Terms
These Terms of Service govern your use of the DateCompass mobile application and related beta services. By using DateCompass, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of agreeing to these Terms to participate in the beta.
3. Beta status
DateCompass may be provided as invitation-only beta software. Beta features may be incomplete, unavailable, changed, or removed without notice. Data may be reset where necessary to maintain the test environment, although DateCompass is designed to preserve user-owned content where practicable.
4. What DateCompass provides
DateCompass provides activity discovery, recommendations, planning tools, checklists, reminders, curated Date Coach guidance, saved collections, location-aware or manual planning tools, weather/route information where configured, and related features. Recommendations are suggestions, not guarantees that an activity, venue, route, offer, weather condition, or relationship outcome will be suitable for you.
5. User responsibility and safety
- Use your own judgment about whether an activity is appropriate for your abilities, health, location, weather, equipment, companions, and circumstances.
- Follow venue rules, local laws, safety instructions, equipment instructions, and age restrictions.
- Do not use DateCompass while driving or in a way that distracts you from your surroundings.
- Weather, route, cost, availability, and venue information may be cached, estimated, unavailable, or out of date. Verify important information with authoritative sources.
- DateCompass does not replace professional medical, legal, financial, mental-health, relationship, emergency, or safety advice.
6. Date Coach
Date Coach provides curated guidance for general informational and entertainment purposes. It does not know the full context of your relationship or circumstances. You remain responsible for your decisions, communication, consent, boundaries, and safety. Do not use Date Coach to pressure, manipulate, deceive, harass, or disregard another person's wishes.
7. Accounts
DateCompass can provide core functionality without an account. If you choose account-enabled features, you are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and activity performed through your account. Contact northstarapp.support@gmail.com if you believe your account has been compromised.
8. Premium and billing
Billing is disabled unless a distributed build is intentionally configured to use platform billing. If paid features are later enabled, store-provided prices and terms control the transaction.
9. Third-party information
Demo venues and offers may be included for testing and are not necessarily verified, redeemable, current, or affiliated with DateCompass. Third-party businesses, maps, weather data, routes, offers, and store services are controlled by their respective providers.
10. Acceptable use
You may not misuse DateCompass, interfere with security or operation, attempt unauthorized access, submit unlawful or abusive content, use automated means to overload the service, impersonate others, or use the service to facilitate harassment, stalking, discrimination, fraud, exploitation, or illegal activity.
11. Intellectual property
DateCompass, its software, design, text, curated content, branding, and owned or licensed visual assets are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the beta for its intended purpose.
12. Feedback
If you voluntarily submit beta feedback or suggestions, you permit DateCompass to use that feedback to evaluate and improve the product without obligation to compensate you, while respecting the Privacy Policy and any rights you retain in personal information or independently owned content.
13. Suspension and termination
DateCompass may suspend or terminate beta access for security, abuse, legal compliance, operational needs, or violation of these Terms. You may stop using the app at any time and, if accounts are enabled, request deletion as described in the Data Deletion Policy.
14. Disclaimers
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DATECOMPASS IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” Beta software may contain errors. DateCompass disclaims warranties not expressly required by law, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and fitness of any recommendation or activity.
15. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, DateCompass will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, or opportunities arising from use of the beta. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so these limitations apply only to the extent permitted by law.
16. Applicable law
These Terms are subject to applicable law, including mandatory consumer protections that cannot legally be waived. Jurisdiction-specific dispute provisions should be reviewed before a public production launch.
17. Changes
DateCompass may update these Terms during the beta. Material changes may be communicated through the app, beta communications, or this hosted Terms page.
